This is a very exciting venture, offering courses that focus on biomedical and environmental science and technology to students aged from 14 to 19 years of age, with an innovative learning programme designed to give them a head start in employment and higher education. One of the things that will be is important is to ensure children from all backgrounds get the chance to access this amazing opportunity.
The college is backed by leading employers including Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Napp Pharmaceuticals, the Babraham Institute and the Medical Research Council. The challenge is getting the building built and the staff recruited so that this can power up in time for the new academic year.

It is an obvious place for such a college given the scale of bio-tech industry and medical research in and around Cambridgeshire, but I know a lot of hard work from eg Cambridge Regional College has gone into getting it to this stage.
