Hunts Road at Duxford - a spring dressing

Hunts Road gets a fair old pounding as it is the main route through Duxford and on to Ickleton, with lorries as well as cars using it. Despite the traffic calming features, because it is nice and straight people tend to go for it along there too.
Added to this the road is also quite narrow which means that wide vehicles tend to take a few centimetres off the sides, so that the road surface gets eaten into from the sides as the foundations are exposed.
The County Council highways team have been out filling in the worst of the potholes, and will do some more, and then in the spring the whole surface will be dressed.

Election result - and thank you

A long day which has seen some huge changes to the face of local government.

I'd like to thank everyone who has given me some of their time on the doorstep, to discuss, argue and sometimes disagree over local issues. I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me - this morning I was elected as Councillor for the Duxford Division of Cambridgeshire County Council. It is a great honour and a privilege and I will work with parishes, district councillors and local residents on issues that matter to us, and to get the best value from the County services that we pay for.

I will be in Shire Hall tomorrow morning...

A good day out in the villages - and some spring sunshine!

A good day going round three of south Cambridgeshire's beautiful villages - talking to people about the issues that concerned them, and the role of the county council.

V. grateful for the cup of coffee that hit the spot. Eventually the sun came out, and I took off at least one layer of clothing.

I was encouraged to hear some people say to me that they would - for the first time - be intending to vote Conservative.
