The trees at Thriplow - a chop too far?

I have asked the district council planning committee to come out to Thriplow tomorrow morning - not to admire the daffodils - but to consider for themselves the application to remove some trees that forms a natural copse near the Green, adding to the tranquillity of the spot. The  open spaces woven into Thriplow's fabric are one of its charms, and while it is the case that diseased wood needs to be taken out to keep the rest healthy, in this case the remedy seems to be an over-enthusiatic wielding of the woodman's axe, rather than the judicious removal of the odd bough.
I will also pass on the concerns that the parish council have over this matter, passed on to me by chair of the PC, Jane Gough.
