Hooray for Hinxton!

Picking up that Hinxton's bid for improvement to storn drains under the minor highways improvement scheme run by the county council has done well. The long village high st esssentially sits in a dip below a lot of the surrounding agricultural land, leading to serious water problems in heavy rain and bad weather, with people having to wade to their parked cars. 
As with Hinxton ford nearby, currently open, thankfully, the issue is when natural forces such as water come up against the expectations of the 21st century. 
Anyway, someone called Cornelius Vermuyden is going to sort it out I don't know, these Europeans, coming over and draining our fens...
