Archives cut back alert!

The County Coucil Archives are cutting back on their hours of opening. The thing that is annoying people who want to take advantage of the excellent services provided in the county hall archive room is that the council cannot say what this reduction will be, and are not taking enquiries for the later part of the year.
I have used the archive myself to research a heinous crime carried out in Whittlesford exactly 200 years ago - a burglary at the house I am living in. No CambsCops then, or police cautions, but the villains were caught and hanged!
But I digress.
The archive service provided by the county is excellent and I have had complaints from other people who are concerned that the service is being wound down prior to being shipped off to Ely next year.
