sustaining the infrastructure - no, really, this matters!

Three recent meetings for me had a thread running thru them of how do we ensure the pattern of villages across South Cambs copes with the economic growth already taking place and scheduled for round here?
One of the meetings was at Hinxton Parish Hall, talking between local parish councils, residents and commercial developers, to work out what could make a difference in terms of improvements to the roads, relocation of some light industry that has outgrown a village, and bus and cycling routes more connected that at the moment.
The big meeting was the one at South Cambs where the latest version of the District Plan was agreed to go out for consulation last night. We have to get on with this, and let people comment on the work, including the robust defence of the green belt.
And then a meeting in a local pub, going through a neigbourhood plan idea for a cluster of villages, to try to have more say over where development is best - ie "development here, but not there".
