Hinxton ford - road closed till after Xmas

I called in at the highways depot yesterday at Whittlesford to see what the situation is. The guys have been out to do a check and though the water level is low it is still fast flowing, and the Environment Agency has issued what they call an operational warning because of the five day forecast for more rain. The team also inspected the amount algae building up on the ford which adds to the challenge because it makes it slippery. So we will ask for that to be treated. 

The ford will be checked again between Christmas and New Year.
