Electricity, drains, water - and superfast broadband?

Over the weekend I was out dropping off a survey to Whittlesford residents that the parish council has arranged, gearing up to producing a neighbourhood plan - so mainly to do with transport and hosuing issues.
But I was surprised - well, no I wasnt, actually - that in talking to people about the survey, broadband came up again and again. Not as a "mmm, let me think - anything else" but straight up "Better broadband, thats what we need." It re-inforced for me other conversations locally.

I know a local music and recording business that has to set the download to run overnight if they are streaming in songs from the US. From 2015 farmers will be putting their agricultural claims in - and looking at field boundaries - online.

So Cambridgeshire Connect - due in 2015 - that the County is championing - can't come soon enough.
