Bung in the Hexcel address in your satnav and it gives you two choices - along the A505 and then down Hunts Road into Duxford, or, turn off at the McDonalds roundabout onto the A1301, through Hinxton, across the railway (assuming the ford road is open - but that's private grief) and along the back way into Duxford.
So if you were a lorry driver crawling along the A505 from say, Newmarket, and you could see the tailback along the A505 near Whittlesford rail station, which would you do.
I've written to Hexcel asking that they issue a reminder to visiting lorries, from wheresoever they might come, that they stick to the main roads rather than risk the narrow back roads of Hinxton. Simples.
Oh - and we have a summit coming up.with county council highways on the Hinxton Ford. I may need to bring in Henry Kissinger to do some shuttle diplomacy.
