A traffic survey commissioned by the small village of Ickleton makes remarkable reading. The stats show traffic movements and speeds.
A fifth of the traffic passing along the narrow Abbey Street managed to exceed the speed limit - which takes some doing.
The village has been proactive and has had the speed limits moved out of the village along Frogge Street and this year has had traffic calming installed at both Frogge Street and on Duxford Road.
The traffic survey was carried out to gather evidence to support a bid to the County Council - which I attended with the chairman of the parish council last month - for a 20 mph speed limit in some parts of the village
