The Flintstones at Duxford

Parish councils dont just do holes in the roads, dog bins and planning applications. Duxford parish council have been spearheading fundraising to pay for the repair of flint walls at St Johns church in the heart of the village.

Over the years, people have used cement to hold up the walls, but this doesn't breathe and flex like the original, and as a result the concrete and the flint fall out in lumps. To get it looking right and staying right takes specialist skill.

The result is some beautiful stonework that hopefully will last for centuries.
