I was working in London on Friday - where it rained too! - but I picked up the pics and emails from Hinxton residents about the impact of the downpour on the roads there.
I called the county highways depot and the truck that sucks up water was despatched to Hinxton and started work at 5.30. I went over to Thriplow early evening where preparations for daffodil weekend were underway - in slightly soggy surroundings. I was assured that the truck would tackle the blocked drain in the middle of Middle Street but it still seemed to be a huge deep puddle across the road.
