Flint Cross fire - latest news - sort of

Earlier in the summer I asked our local MP Heidi Allen to see if she could extract from the Environment Agency what exactly they are doing about the site of the fire at Flint Cross last November.

Despite two deadlines, the people who own the waste site, and who were storing unsuitable materials on it, have still not cleared it up. 

Their licence remains revoked so they cannot bring anything new into the site, which is good. 

The Environment Agency chairman, has replied to Heidi. This week there will be an on site meeting between the EA and the site owners at Flint Cross to determine what happens next. It is progress of a sort. The EA will update after that meeting.
