Bus stops and Bishops!

An interesting day, bookended by two very different events.

At 7.20 this morning I was standing by the side of the A1307 at Babraham talking road safety with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire - mainly to do with the roundabout there - see blogpost below. I also stopped to have a look at the footpath that we are trying to get the county to resurface, as anyone coming from the bus stop on the main road has to use this path to get into Babraham village. Its a short stretch but not good going when its dark.
In the evening I drove over to a packed St Lawrence's church at Foxton for the the service to instal a new vicar serving the parishes of Thriplow, Fowlmere, Foxton and Shepreth. It was great to see so many people there, and the new vicar, Angela, brings lots of experience from her previous work in Hackney in terms of building strong communities. The bishop of Ely was on hand to welcome everyone, and I took the opportunity over the huge tea that followed to ask him when Whittlesford might be getting a new vicar after a gap of two years. Soon, very soon, was the reply!
