Who owns the land - resolving local arguments

I'm grateful to the County Council land data team for offering to help Whittlesford parish council resolve a couple of land arguments where, dependent on who owns the land, there may be some consequent work to be done and expense.
Its far better to get the definitive map up on screen in detail and reach agreement based on evidence rather than spend time going back and forth trying to sort it out based on folk memory and "ye olde village lore".
Then the parish council can get on and do things, even if there is an agreed shared responsbility on the costs, between landowner, parish and county council. (In case you were wondering, this isn't the land in question, as that would be too contraversial, but just by way of illustration)!
