A good start for the new landlords at the Green Man at Thriplow

I missed the keg of free beer (Woodfordes Wherry, from Norfolk) that opened proceedings, but the Green Man was still busy when I called in later  in the evening. The pub, in the middle of Thriplow, is owned by the community, and reopened this evening with a new team running it: Rebecca in charge at the bar - with continuity provided by Diane, of course - and Chris who is the chef, together with their immediate family who had been drafted in to help with proceedings.
The district council wants to make it harder for people to turn pubs into other businesses, as is hapening with the Pear Tree at Hildersham, but the trick is to not to get to that stage, and that means a good business plan and support from the community. We'll be back to try the menu!
