Cambustion planning application at Heathfield

A few weeks back I attended the public meeting held at Thriplow to hear more about the proposals from a company called Cambustion to take over the old Iceni building in the middle of Heathfield.
The site has been empty for a few years and is a mess, not helped by the fact that the current owners have put a big concrete block across an access route on their land which was being used as an extra exit route for one part of the estate.
There were lots of questions at the meeting, mainly to do with the possible pollution from the work that Cambustion do, and what happens at their Cherry Hinton current site.
To be fair, their work of testing vehicle engines is a very high tech way means that they are as interested in clean air as the rest of us and more so because dirty air messes up the science. So they were able to produce data on that.
There were questions about the length of their working day and the number of staff cars, and challenges on the extraction cowls that will go on the top of the existing building.
The parish council agreed that it would  support the application. The matter is now with South Cambs - if you wanted to let me know your views then please email me.
