We talked through the issues of lorries trying to reach the site via Hinxton, and getting stuck in the small lanes there, which has been the cause of many complaints and anger by residents.
The company talked me through steps to reduce the problem: satnav codes have been changed, the paperwork for drivers now tells them to go via the A505, and within the site itself there are signs telling drivers which way to go.
The company is paying towards new county council designed signs that keep lorries out of Hinxton, working with the two parish councils of Hinxton and Duxford and the highways team based at Whittlesford depot.
Next step will be to get the misleading highways signs saying "industrial estate" that point vehicles coming from the east along the A505 down Moorfield Rd into the narrow streets of old Duxford when they should be on the next junction along coming down Hunts Rd.Will talk to Karen at the highways depot on that one.
