Elections 2014

The turn-out across South Cambs for these elections was over 42%. This is a pretty high turn out even though the European elections were on which will have raised the profile.
I did some telling at Sawston where things were generally good-natured, as they were at Whittlesford (see pic - isnt it cute).
I do think people feel good when they go to vote - even though they may have strong views - and there is a sense that people know that voting is a GOOD THING. It was also nice to see lots of people - especially in Sawston - took their children along, some in push-chairs, and that they were all made welcome. Voting shouldnt be too serious.
I resisted the urge to take a "boothie" aka a selfie with ballot paper. Apparently it contravenes the Representation of the People Act!
