Station Road - planning problems and vehicle noise

I've been away so not posted for a while, but before I went away I had a meeting the developers who want to build on the old vehicle scrapyard behind the vets on Station Road. Planning officer also present. I said that whatever their proposals for the future, at the moment they had no planning permission for what they were currently doing. The lorries being deployed there for the Highways Agency work are leaving their depot at eight and nine o clock at night with a load of pipes and roaring off up station road.
I've been down to log it myself this evening after more complaints and I've been on to the planning enforcement team again.

Get your energy monitors here! The're luvverley!

This Saturday sees the volunteers of Sustainable Whittlesford launching the Whittlesford Energy Monitor Loan Scheme between 2-3pm in the side room of the Parish Church.

This will be people's chance to borrow one of the 15 Energy Monitors that the group has obtained from the District Council as part of the Sustainable Parish Energy Partnership. These fascinating devices help you save money by showing you clearly how much electricity you are using. You can even set a target and see if you can live within it. They really make you think about energy use. I've had one in the kitchen for a few weeks and it has changed my energy use habits. Whether it will change my boys' energy habits is another matter...
